DID YOU KNOW? - When it comes to skincare, Calendula or
marigold (do not confuse it with the ornamental marigold that you have recently
planted in your garden this spring 😊) is one of the oldest known herbs. It grows widely in the Mediterranean
region, Western Europe and South-western Asia. It is rich in carotenoids,
glycosides, volatile oil, flavonoids and sterols that work wonders for the
skin. It is believed that calendula cream helps with insect bites, minor bruises,
burn on the skin, chronic or seasonal dry skin, improves overall complexion and
reduces crow’s feet…just to name a few of the benefits from the regular use of
calendula cream.
However, it is also important to know that usage of calendula cream should be avoided during pregnancy and breastfeeding and those whom are allergic to the herbs of Asteraceae family, such as daisy, chrysanthemum and ragweed should use with caution.
